BREATHING ROOM: ProCraft 186 Tested

By GO BOATING Testing Team

Pro Craft made its start more than two decades ago, and has never veered from its path to produce quality fishing boats. For 2007, the company introduced two new boats in its Pro 176 and Pro 186. We were able to put the 186 through its paces to see if this new midsized bass boat offers the performance and amenities anglers have come to expect from the company.

The new Pro 186 model is an 18-foot low-profile, midsized bass boat designed as a tournament-ready package. Pro Craft says it is made to deliver “big-boat room” and features in more of a midsized package. To provide the feel of a larger bass boat, the Pro 186 features a narrow gunnel design to help maximize deck space and get that “big-boat” feel.

While there are a number of aluminum boats in the fish boat market, Pro Craft uses a hand-laid fiberglass hull on its Pro 186 that features a composite foam-filled stringer system. For a little added peace of mind, the boat comes with a ProGuard 10-year hull warranty.

You would expect to see quite a few well-designed fishing features, and the Pro 186 does not disappoint...
